Part of what made the reading so fun was learning that many manners and customs still practiced today (albeit not by everyone) have such a long and distinguished history. The 110 rules written by George Washington have a somewhat mysterious origin. The speeches in the back of this tiny book add immeasurably to its (and President Washington's) gravitas.6 of 6 people found the following review helpful. Honesty and DecentBy DorothyHard to ever find fault with George Washington. Have not finished this book but know I will enjoy reading more about a man of such bravery and integrity; and especially his love for his troops. Proud to know he was chosen as our first president. Sure wish we could find a man of such honorable behavior and leanings again; instead of one who seems bent on destroying our wonderful America.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. George Washington's Rules of Civility Decent BehaviorBy Joe KuprisClassic advice on how to behave amongst others from the "Father of our Country" George Washington. It's actually a very easy read. You need to read it; however; with an eye toward the times in which he lived; so some of it is dated but can be easily interpreted for use in the present day age in which we live. It really ought to be mandatory reading in our public schools to be sure!
