George Washington's Indispensible Men

PDF George Washington's Indispensible Men by Arthur S. Lefkowitz in History

Description

Details on the Soviet infantry; armor; artillery; and cavalry formations that waged World War II on the Eastern Front Fills a major gap in our understanding of the Red Army Based on painstaking archival research Hitler's Nemesis traces the development of the Russian army in reaction to the rise of Hitler; Germany's invasion of the Soviet Union in June 1941; and the progression of World War II over the following four years. Caught by surprise in 1941; the Red Army teetered on the brink of destruction before bouncing back to defend Moscow; defeat the Germans at Stalingrad and Kursk; and annihilate the German Army in 1944-45. This is the story of how the Soviets staged this miraculous turnaround.

Book focus only on Washington's aidesBy SamA difficult book to find but well worth the buy for any reader who is heavily into learning about this war and wants to know facts about men who worked closely with General Washington and are not usually mentioned in other books. However not for the casual reader. The book focuses entirely on the aides of George Washington and the role they played in this war. Many of their stories are fascinating readying.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Washington from a different perspectiveBy Celeste M. KnudsenI loved the storytelling first person narrative. The author brought these indispensable men to life and gave them each distinct voices. It was scholarly as well as readable. I am a PhD candidate writing on the subject of George Washington and found the book itself to be ‘indispensable’.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.
