In 1804 Thomas Jefferson decided to study the gospels to see if he could distill the essence of Jesus' teachings into a concise book that could be quickly read and easily understood. This volume is the result; offering valuable insights into the teachings of Jesus Christ and into the mind and beliefs of Thomas Jefferson.

I am very pleased- hard back book; the dust cover is in great shape. The book has no dog ears; and does not look like it was ever read. Many thanks. This book goes with "The History Channel's Bielski Brothers (Jerusalem in the Woods)."The movie "Defiance;" is also about the Bielski Brothers. They made it though the critical phase of WWII. The younger Bielski Brother was later drafted by the Russian Army; and he was killed in a later combat action. The older two brothers went by way of Israel; before coming to the U.S. and settling here in New York.I have all three variances' now. I look forward to reading the book.3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. excellent bookBy B. E. MillerThis true account of the survival of a handful of Jews during WWII in the forests of Hungry and Bulgaria truly amazes me. Remember the winters in Europe during WWII were brutal and these people survived Nazi's; Soviet troops; and Mother nature for 4 years. The Soviets were not as friendly as believed to these displaced Jews. In fact the Jews were expendable in the view of the soviets. They were given few rations and even fewer guns and ammunition. They didn't trust the Jews in the forest. A very remarkable book on how the Jews lived during the war and the leaders' decisions that saved as many as they could.3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. IncredibleBy ksmithTrue stories are always more exciting than fiction; and this book is not exception. It is well and fairly written showing the talent of an author that has truly mastered his craft. The amount of time spent on research along with his large knowledge base is reflected in every page. The eastern front in WW 2 has always been understated and misunderstood in the West; this book is a window into some real knowledge.
