Will Banks was an African American man who died in 1907 by being hung by the neck until he was dead. The crowd there was not a lynch mob; but men; women and children who came to see his execution by government authority in a remote North Carolina mountain village. The author has attempted to aid in understanding the event and the circumstances that led to it.
