Amazing story and great readBy SJEJoe's life is lovingly documented in this incredibly well written account of his early life in pre-Nazi Germany to his rise to the top of the business and philanthropic community in Norwich. It's facinating to get a first hand account of how Joe's friends and neighbors became increasingly hostile to him and other Jews as Hitler solidified his power(some agreed with the Nazi ideology; others did so out of fear). Joe's business acumen and kindness had a substantial impact on so many within his community through his thriving travel agency and his participation in then Lions. It just goes to show how one person can make a huge difference and how much potential was lost in the senseless brutality of the Holocaust.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.
