One of the most prolific authors of the twentieth century presents a classic of popular history; his masterwork on the four-thousand-year history of the Jewish people; beginning with Moses and running all the way through to the post-World War II establishment of the State of Israel.

Good Common Sense Book to Help Understand Spiritual Topics.By ShaleenaI have David Aaron's 3 books on the Kabbalah; broken down so it is easier to understand. I have given several away and always have to keep replacing them. I like them because they are just basic; good common sense. If you have tried to read other books on the Kabbalah; they can be confusing so this is one way to see it condensed to a simple form. Not sure; but some Jewish people may not approve; but I think it is a good thingto be able to introduce people to anything that is going to benefit them spiritually in their everyday life and relationship with God and your understanding of Him.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Surprisingly fresh!By B TataAs a student of Kabbalah; this is a beautifully and clearly written book that clarifies complex concepts such as learning to know our true selves. Only then are we able to even think of getting to know and loving someone else. It gradually builds on itself by exploring the importance of allowing for greater space as we allow more individuals into our lives by starting with oneself; then our soul and helpmates and then ultimately our progeny. There is much more to this book but I was pleasantly surprised at the elucidation of kabbalistic terms and explanations that I came across that had not been available in other "kabbalah" publications. Given time; I will continue to seek out most of Rabbi Aaron's publications for deeper understanding of this mystical art we call Kabbalah.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Wonderful intro to KabbalahBy Brown Eyed GirlThis is one of those books that everyone should have; whether they want to learn Kabbalah or not... there is so much amazing teaching in here that would benefit anyone and everyone.Rabbi Aaron teaches in such a way that you feel he is speaking directly to you; right through the pages; as if you were there in the living room with him. He speaks on many aspects of life and gives not only a wonderful introduction to Kabbalah but amazing teaching on the questions we all ask in our hearts and souls; in a way that makes perfect sense. As I was reading several times a little light bulb would go off in my spirit; there were several "Aha!" moments. It is the first book I have ever read on the Kabbalah and inspired me to delve a little deeper into this path. I finished a second book of his; "Seeing God" (which is equally as amazing and inspiring). I am currently reading Aryeh Kaplan's "Meditation and the Bible" and next I will be treading gently into "Opening the Tanya." I also plan to buy more of Rabbi Aaron's books. If you have questions in your spirit that you never found the answers to... read this book. It will absolutely change your outlook on life; whether you ever want to study more about Kabbalah or not. I feel it to be life changing and highly; highly recommend it; as well as "Seeing God" by him also.Happy reading and God bless.
