In this splendid account; Taoism is presented as a system of religious symbol and action deeply rooted in centuries of Chinese social life.In vivid detail; Lagerwey describes the intricacies of Taoist rituals as performed by a single Taoist priest in present-day Taiwan. Too many errors and ommissions for an "encyclopedia"By A CustomerIt's hard to believe that so many words could be published on this subject under the guise of an "encylopedia" - yet omit facts and historical data that are essential to the story.Accuracy and thoroughness is essential when writing about the Holocaust - or any historical event. Otherwise the writing because fodder for those that deny it ever happened.I would not rely on this for research. But; it's not bad reading - if you keep that in mind.
