She focuses on empowerment of the community from a biblical standpoint and offers many great insights from history. I especially enjoyed her chapter on "Remoralization" and how ethical issues have several different dimensions - personal morality; academic concern; and social justice. This offers many great discussion topics and her insights can stretch beyond the African-American community and be applied to other contexts as well.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. LiberatingBy RokeyI am reading this book reflectively; it is quite profound. As a female minister; it's great to read material from a female perspective. I'm looking forward to completing it.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. FabulousBy MariamI recommend this book. My copy was in perfect condition too. I needed it for a class but I recommend it whether it's a required reading or reading for pleasure.
