The centrality of this book is the 'vision of the revolutionaries' as manifested in their writings in archival records; their syncretic vision; miraculous modes of communications; the working of their government; and the nature and immensity of this Great War; with its pan Indian extent. The twin goals of the war were ousting the firangi lootere (foreign looters) and establishing a Hindustan of Hindus and Muslims; of a spacious and absorptive idea of Hindustan where the multifarious castes and sects were all intergrated and assured of the safety of their life; religion; honour and property exemplified the extraordinary vision of the rebels.
