Like a ghost returning; the modern state of Israel is a thoroughly astonishing reality. Built on the ruins of ancient cities and villages; Israel today is a thriving democracy; in spite of the relentless terror war waged against it by radical Islamic groups. Knesset member Binyamin “Benny†Elon is a moral voice in Israel’s government; and this new book is certain to find a wide audience among his country’s advocates; like America’s evangelicals. A brilliant mixture of Israel’s current political and security situation; contrasted with its ancient biblical heritage; makes God’s Covenant with Israel an irresistible book. Filled with color photos and maps that explain Israel’s status in clear detail; the book represents Elon’s heart. Determined to hold off his nation’s enemies by speaking the truth; Elon; who served two terms as Israel’s minister of tourism; is a bold spokesman for the Jewish state.

Appleman does the topic the justice it; and our beloved Korean War veterans; deserve.By The guy who actually does the work.Well researched; well written. I've read a ton of Korean war history including Appleman's East of Chosin. Appleman does an admirable job of mixing the high level with the first-person-action viewpoints. His analysis is solid. I think he does a better job of it than SLA Marshall. I'm nitpicking - but more maps would have been helpful; and putting the maps closer to the related text would have been nice. I want to thank Mr. Appleman for taking the time to write about the 8th Army in Korea. They took a hell of a beating. It takes a ton of work to write a book like this and a casual observer might think; based on the relative number of volumes; that only the 1st Marine Division was fighting the Chinese in late 1950. But Appleman does the topic the justice it; and our beloved veterans; deserve. I highly recommend this book as required reading for any student of the Korean War.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Too dense for meBy Johnny RocketI had just read "We were Soldiers Once" and was impressed that a true war story could be so readable. So; I bought this. It may be excellent but I cannot force myself through the density.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Five StarsBy steven johnsonGreat seller and product
