Superficial and forgettableBy themartzDr. Franklin could have brought the characters of the patients to life;but instead used the stories to illustrate something that he used to like about medicine but now doesn't. There was no drama or Medical mysteries to solve or report about; just musings of a retired doctor. Even the HIV epidemic; with it's fears and heroics at the height of the disease was delt with as a few interesting cases. I kept hoping that the book would get better; but it didn't.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Fairly interestingBy C. Von HirdlerThis was an easy read about a Dr whom worked at Cook County. I was entertained until about the last chapter. I don't know if that was me; or the book. The stories about the patients was the most interesting parts of the book.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Great!By Kindle CustomerWonderful medical story teller. The book is hard to put down. It helps that the author is a doctor who has experienced these things himself.
