Description

Designed to encourage critical thinking about history; the MAJOR PROBLEMS IN AMERICAN HISTORY series introduces readers to both primary sources and analytical essays on important topics in U.S. history. This collection serves as a primary anthology for introductory U.S. history; covering the subject's entire chronological span. Comprehensive topical coverage includes politics; economics; labor; gender; culture; and social trends. The Third Edition features greater focus on visual and cultural sources throughout. Several chapters now include images; songs and poems to give readers a better "feel" for the time period and events under discussion.

Review
1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. an Australian perspective.By peter richardsonEnjoyed the above and always admired the Chuck Dixon and his involvement in great comics artwork etc.ever since the early days.Am a big Civil War buff considering I am an Australian and the closest I got to the battle fields was on a trip to Arizona and we travelled from Tucson where I was staying to Phoneix and when passing the Piccacho Mountain I was asked if I was a Civil War buff and replied I had books on the Civil War which I had not ;at that time ;read as I had difficulty in knowing who was fighting for the North and who was fighting for the South.Became clearer when the I got to see "Gettyburg " based on "Killer Angels ";on DVD. now my books on above are in the hundreds and have plenty of same in dvd collection. Civil War Adventure arrived early and was duly read early and will be read again. Well done--------Pete R.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Much more morbid than I would have thought.
