It not only deals with MsBy BarbaraI was not aware of Cathy Williams until I heard gentleman who reenact the story of the Buffalo Soldiers. They shared some of her story but I wanted to know more. I found this book and it is excellent. It not only deals with Ms. William's life but also about the other women who posed as male soldiers. The author did a tremendous amount of research. This is a must read for any person who enjoys Women's Studies; Amercian History and/or the Civil war. her story would make an incredible movie!0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. I found it is so many people;even people of color never knew it was an African American the only female to service in the Buffalo Soldiers.
