Confederate flags incorporated the language of color; shape; design; and inscription; weaving them into a new icon that offered a material and highly visible representation of the differences between North and South. It contains some 900 illustrated cap badges; helmet plates; belt buckles and other items - all of which are new and did not appear in the first volume. All items photographed in full colour and at actual size. There are also dozens of period photographs of colonial soldiers and units. An indispensable guide and companion for all those interested in military history and regalia.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. must have for history buffs and collectorsBy Christian BeauHighly recommend this worthy successor to the first volume! Anyone with any interest in military and/or colonial history will surely benefit from the wealth of information available in this volume. Hundreds of new badges have been added along with many photos showing the original units who wore them. The photography of the badges is of a superb quality. Very useful to any collector or history buff.2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. A fantastic follow upBy Badge CollectorA fantastic follow up. It's just as good as the first book; and extends our knowledge so much further. I was amazed at how many new badges and other items the authors came up with; and the photography and the information is of the usual high standard. Highly recommended.
