The Celtic world is a rich source of myth and legend and this attractive volume aims to introduce the subject to a wide audience. Following a general history of Celts and druids; Curran presents extracts or summaries of myths that tell the stories of saints; giants and monsters; sea gods; earth and air spirits; sacred sites and heroes. Storytelling in the Celtic tradition is shown to be still alive in the far west of Britain. Each section is accompanied by numerous photographs of Celtic sites and past and present artistic representations of the legends.

Chris Howlett (not Simon as identified by ) is a well respected researcher on the B-29; or Washington - as it was known in service with the RAF. His latest work covers the Superfortress from the early development; through its wartime service (WWII; Korea; and the early Cold War); all the way until it was retired from USAF and RAF service. Every page has both relevant data and illustrations to tell the B-29 story. Chris includes information he has gathered from hundreds of former aircrew who flew the B-29 and the men who kept them flying. I highly recommend this book.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Nice Book For Aviation History (But not really a shop manual)By Dave B.Not really a manual; but more of a history with some excellent photo's and diagrams. Its pretty interesting with some technical info such as lubrication requirements for various systems. I bought it for my son who is an AP mechanic and saw "Fifi" the Commemorative Air Force's B-29 fly into an airport he was working at a couple of years ago; and he has talked about it ever since. I like to see the younger generation learn to appreciate aviation history from an earlier age; and I thought he could use this book to start his own historical aircraft library.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful.
