I couldn't give it five stars simply because it needs to tell a bit more history of the units it covers; but it stops short. That may make you take pause; but don't! It's a good resource book that shows personnel listings ( COs; etc.); unit crests; squadron badges and designator colors and color schemes for the aircraft operated in the PTO very nicely;from just prior to the start of hostilities to the conclusion of operations against Japan. I even discovered some unique color schemes that would make eye catching model subjects. A picture is worth a thousand words it's been said. Proof is here; but personally; I would have liked to have had a couple of thousand words more to cover a bit more history. If this sounds like what you would like; IT PROBABLY IS; so give It a look.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Only thing that would have been nice is listings of aircraft serial numbers (serials on tail) ...By joe bogackiI'm an modeler and got this to verify markings and colors of aircraft of various PTO units. This book has done that and more!It even goes so far as to tell the color of nose spinners for different squadrons in a group. If you are a WWII aviationbuff;modeler or artist that likes to draw airplanes this book will fit the bill. Only thing that would have been nice is listings ofaircraft serial numbers (serials on tail) sent to various units. Not all of this exists for all units but some have records so one could portray actual aircraft for modeling purposes. Artwork is excellent and actually read some of units histories which isinteresting and gives dates and where units where located.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.
