There is a mass of literature on Napoleon and his times; yet there are but a handful of scholarly works that seek to cover the Napoleonic Wars in their entirety; and fewer still that place the conflict in any broader frameworks. This new study redresses the balance. Drawing on recent findings and applying a "total" history approach; it covers the causes and effects of the conflict and its place in the evolution of modern warfare.

CollinsI recently discovered that Anne Hutchinson was my ancestor and was very pleased with this biography. The author; Timothy Hall; was very objective in trying to capture who Anne Hutchinson was in the context of the times that she lived in. I learned a lot about her theology and also about what was going on around her during her lifetime. For a better understanding of who Anne Hutchinson was and the Antinomian Controversy that resulted in her banishment from the Massachusetts Bay Colony; I highly recommend this book.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Great account of Anne HutchinsonBy mboThis biography was pretty good; Hall portrays her as more of a scapegoat for the leaders of the Massachusetts Bay Colony than a spiritual leader.
