Nobody knows the origin of the God. Similarly; it is not possible to date the origin of Sanatana Dharma; which is popularly called as Hinduism nowadays. Sanatana Dharma is not merely a religion; it is much more than that; it is the way of life and provides entire worldview. The ideas of Hinduism are present in the form of Vedas; Puranas; epics and various other texts. Valmiki Ramayan Simplified is the first book in the series of books on Indian Mythology that the author has written. Ramayan is one of the two great epics of Hinduism. It was written by the great sage Valmiki. This book is not a retelling of Valmiki Ramayan. In this book; the author attempts to summarize the epic and simplify the ideas along with his observations.

It's a quick read (83 pages) but was written in such a way; that you feel almost like you are there. The only reasons I didn't give it five stars were minor things that can be easily fixed in subsequent printings. Unlike most books; the very first page jumps right into things; there are no pages telling the title; when it was published; or any sort of introduction. Also nothing is printed on the spine of the book; so if it's on a bookshelf; you won't see any title or author's name. Incidentally; 1stSgt Ainsworth died in 1981; this book was evidently produced by the son of his late company commander. Again; these are minor things and overall it's a good book about Peleliu.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Great accounting of the battle from first hand viewBy THamiltonGreat accounting of the battle from first hand view. My father was veteran of battle and I only wish he was alive to read it. Loaned it to another vet of battle who was thrilled to read about events he was involved in as well as what the other guys were doing.
