America's Godly Heritage

audiobook America's Godly Heritage by David Barton in History

Description

When Jim Botticelli launched the Dirty Old Boston Facebook page as a salute to the gritty city he once knew; he discovered that thousands of people were equally nostalgic and curious about Boston's recent past. And for good reason; after World War II; Boston changed rapidly; without apology; for better and worse; and in many ways forever. Dirty Old Boston chronicles the people; streets; and buildings from the postwar years to 1987. From ball games to dive bars; Dirty Old Boston also covers some of the city's most tumultuous events including the razing of neighborhoods; Boston's busing crisis; and the continual fight for affordable housing. Photographs assembled from family albums; student projects; institutional archives; and professional collections reveal Boston as seen from the streets. Illuminating Boston's tenacity and spirit; Dirty Old Boston presents our proud moments and our growing pains. Raw and beautiful; this book is an evocative tribute to the city and its people.

Those who deny this fact are victims of wishful thinking. Simply research the monuments and government buildings. Statues; paintings; quotes and friezes carved into the walls all denote our Christian heritage. Both the Congress and the military have chaplains since their inception. Sessions of Congress since the First Continental Congress begin with an opening prayer.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Very good book; precise and to the pointBy bigmmVery good book; precise and to the point. Cannot say enough good about it. Tells the truth about what this country was built on; belief in God. God was first in the eyes of our founders but somehow has gotten put on the back burner and even pushed off the stove in todays world. More need to read this book and get back to the original plan.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Barton is a great source for learning about the Founders' intent for Religious Freedom.By K MGood book. Barton wrote plenty of books about America's Founding Fathers and the Original Intent of the Founders regarding religion and the government. Another good book by David Barton is. "Original Intent" regarding how the Founding Fathers meant for the government to interact with religious freedom.
