This is one of those books a friend of mine best described as one you "bite and chew" through; but well worth it. Fascinating read! I thought I understood this time period but learned I was grossly under-informed prior to reading this book. Take the time; read this; and learn even how much of today's civil and political environment can be traced back to this time period.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. A New LookBy D.
