Truth of America's historyBy CanyonramA collection of academic papers written by the author covering different aspects of the American Holocaust and genocide vs. Native Americans. Not an easy 'read' as a result of the author's writing style that is directed toward his fellow academics. Detailed and well-researched exposure of the painful and ugly truth of American history.1 of 2 people found the following review helpful. The history school books omitBy snobird39This book woke me up to the history you won't find written in your everyday school history book. I was astounded at how our government authorized the genocide of an entire race of indigenous people beginning with the slaughter of our native buffalo in order to deprive the native populations of their food and then the systemic slaughter of the people themselves. A million Native Americans lost their lives and four entire tribes are no more. This is the tragedy our government refuses to speak about -- a case of out of mind; out of sight; if we don't speak about it; it didn't happen. We learn the heroes of our west were nothing more than thugs of the lowest order yet we put them on lofty pedestals whose lives are to be admired but no one tells how they massacred Native Americans with impunity and no remorse. This is a must read for those interested in our history.1 of 2 people found the following review helpful. A great book on the mistreatment of the Indian American by ...By Rod MathisA great book on the mistreatment of the Indian American by the fore fathers of this nation. The treaties made by the US Government with the Indian Americans were worthless pieces of paper. Promises were never kept by the US Government and the Indian American was and still continues to be the loser. A must read for those who are Indain Americans; as well as non Indian Americans. AS with most books that are written by authors that were not present during the time they write about. Authors all have the tendency and ability to write books that includes thier own point of view.
