Description

China has been a challenge to Christianity since the beginning of modern times; and it remains so today. Here is a great civilisation comprising a quarter of humankind; yet largely untouched by Christian values and beliefs. Any theological evaluation of the state of world Christianity that does not take China into account is impoverished and radically incomplete.

Five StarsBy Russ GarlickA fitting tribute to the persistence of the authors in researching every possible source in their remarkable history.3 of 4 people found the following review helpful. Nearly perfect study of the MTOBy E. MerchantChristopher Shores has done a magnificent job with this update to his classic work on the topic. The daily progress of the airwar is very interesting and well researched; though some details may be lacking or missed if compared to some other sources. This is very minor in nature however and does not detract from the excellent read this book is. Sources will always vary on "facts" and some may be more reputable than others; so I accept some differences in historical accounts as an expected hazard of the trade. This book is a terrific source for people interested in wargaming air combat in WW2; and provides scenario after scenario along with an account of the historical results so players can gauge how well they played versus the real outcome. Not entirely a scholarly reason; but I cannot discount the fact that these books by Shores are perhaps the best material for air combat wargames out there; at least as far as WW2 goes.Overall; I highly recommend this book; and anxiously await the next volume. Thank you Mr. Shores for your fine work and I wish you good health to continue your endeavors!0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.
