I studied Latin American history and Spanish in college; and had forgotten a lot of details that were important about the Cuban Revolution; the history of the colonization and subjugation of Cuban and Afro-Caribe peoples and this book helped me get my "history nerd" back on before our trip. I enjoyed visiting Cuba even more after spending some time reading and understanding how Che; Marti; Castro and others brought Revolution to the island nation.
