The explanations of are thorough without a preachy overtone or heavy textbook feel. It not only covers the practical side of planning a pilgrimage with pictures; maps; and detailed rite descriptions; but also digs into the emotional and spiritual preparations one should consider. Well written books like this surely help fight the intolerance and misunderstanding displayed towards Islam. I must admit; this really grew my respect and understanding for such a time honored religious tradition.
