Elena Kochina was thirty–four when the blockade began; and reasonably prosperous―she had a job; a loving family; and an active cultural life. All of this was promptly effaced; and Blockade Diary is the record what happened next. Her book goes inside the horror to reveal the blockade in its totality. But this is far more than a catalogue of suffering and starvation: Blockade Diary is a testament to selfishness and moral collapse; but also a tribute to generosity and courage. I'm highly edjucated; and very framiliar with the subject matter in this book ranging from religion; to 2012; to the seriousness of current politics; and the potential financial collapse of America. With that said; I was still blown away by this book. I walked away from this book very much informed; and extremely concerned; concerned for the people of America; and the world. I did not expect this book to affect me as much as it did; but the content lays it all on the table in a clear concise manor; and backs it up with an explosion of "FACTS". Good luck trying to put it down.......Note: I bought the "HARDCOVER"; and the quality is exceptional. Nothing but Republican bashingBy Bruce TylerThis is a terrible book..the Author is an ultra liberal that blames the worlds problems on Republicans..nothing but one liberals opinion...total waste of time.I'm sorry this had to be such a poor review;I don't like giving writers poor reviews but this book is like a personal attack and I'm sure others will feel the same.To put blame on a select few Americans is wrong;we have all contributed to the decline of America in one way or another.I bought this book thinking it was going to be about 2012 and found it to be a one sided rant and rave attacking Republicans...Like what; Democrats all wear halo's?...Yeah right.
